Our Story
Back in 2018 I needed something. My family and I had moved into our new house and we were expecting our third child. The house was great, perfect location, great garden and plenty of space. But it needed updating and re-jigging to suit our family and the lifestyle that we wanted.
We needed money to make these dreams come true but we had taken a 5 year fixed mortgage when we moved in and the bank wouldn’t lend us any more. Also, our third child had now arrived and we had decided that my wife would be full-time with the kids. I felt a little stuck! Even though I had been in the industry for years, this type of situation had always meant a “sit tight and wait” option for clients or cost them thousands in early repayment charges. What were the other options?
This got me thinking.
At the same time, I had also started on a fitness journey. Training for a 100 KM run from London to Brighton introduced me to a world that I had not really been a part of for an exceptionally long time. Discipline with a regime and diet helped me greatly and gave me a focus.
This is the story of how Mortgage Fit came to be.
We want to help people to improve their financial fitness in the same way that they can improve their physical fitness. By helping people with specialist advice and introducing them to fantastic financial products and ways of structuring them, we want to make sure that everyone can achieve their financial goals.

And for anyone wondering, the house looks great now…
